West Coast Magic! (Sept/Oct 2011 edition)
For years now we have been talking about visiting the Cape West Coast. Rumours of abundant crayfish, vast unspoilt beaches and great golf courses have naturally had us interested. So for this edition we decided to travel down to Cape Town and make the 130 kilometer trip to Langebaan where we would spend two weeks verifying these stories. The West Coast is vast so we narrowed our stay to the West Coast Peninsula which encompasses Langebaan, Vredenburg, St. Helena Bay, Hopefield, Paternoster and Saldahna.
This turned out to be one of our best trips as we were bowled over by the friendliness of the locals, the stark beauty of the area, the delicious seafood, the surrounding golf courses and so much more…..
I really can not put into words how special this area is (it possesses an almost mystical aura) and would highly recommend that you grab your clubs and go West in a hurry!
