Paradise Revisited

PORT ALFRED AND THE SUNSHINE COAST

As a child my family used to visit the sleepy old town of Port Alfred. It was always to me the best place on earth, huge sand dunes to board down, the long winding Kowie River where you could ski and fish, beautiful beaches and generally just a magical place to go to during the school holidays. It also had according to my dad a wonderful golf course, so when I recently spotted an interview with Bev Young, head of tourism for the Ndlambe region (which encompasses Port Alfred) in the Sunday Times, it rekindled some of those wonderful memories…
