Justin Harding’s Asian Tour’s fairy tale lands him at the CIMB Classic where he is due to make his first appearance at TPC Kuala Lumpur on Thursday.

Harding goes to the ninth edition of the US$7-million event oozing confidence with two wins in the bag which he claimed after getting an invitation to the Bank BRI Indonesia Open and to the Royal Cup. He was runner-up at the Asian-Pacific Open Golf Championship, the Diamond Cup and also has two recent top-10 results on the Asian Tour.

“I’ve never anticipated my season to be this good and my schedule looking forward to be that nice. It’s exciting and I’m looking forward to CIMB as I’m going to see a couple of my mates there,” the Stellenbosch Golf Club player said during an interview with the Asian Tour.

For the 32-year-old South African, the bright season started on the Sunshine Tour’s early season events where he claimed back to back wins on eSwatini soil in the Investec Royal Swazi Open and Lombard Insurance Classic.

Harding’s season has been so good that he is ranked 93rd on the Official World Golf Ranking, he is occupying the sixth spot on the Habitat for Humanity Standings on the Asian Tour and he is also leading the Sunshine Tour Order of Merit.

He is also not the only South African in the field. Ernie Els, Branden Grace, Louis Oosthuizen and Sunshine Tour’s Scott Vincent of Zimbabwe, who will also be making his debut in the event, will also be there.
